A Weekend in Music City
8:43 pm CDT October 26, 2008
The Carver family took one big road trip in October - to meet our friends, the Yinglings from Virginia, in Nashville for the weekend. Ten hours each way was quite the loooong drive, but Annalyn was really good. And we all had a good time in Music City!
On Friday afternoon, we took Annalyn - who was still recovering from the long drive - to walk around historic downtown Franklin.
Downtown Franklin
Making herself at home at the hotel!
On Saturday, we all went to the zoo. It was chilly, but the animals were out to play!
Mark and the kids enjoyed the creatures and critters exhibit - Annalyn and I steered clear of the huge turtles and scary anaconda!
We walked to the far corner of the zoo for this close-up view of the elephants!
On Sunday, we stopped at a park so the kids could play on the swings. Unfortunately, they all ended up crying at some point - here you can see sad baby, sad daddy.
Of course we took time for a family photo shoot before the kids got too cranky and we all had to hit the road again!
Katie decided we should climb up on a big rock for the picture. I was nervous but we got the shot. And nobody fell - perhaps a first for a Carver vacation!
