Hello DC!

6:13 am CDT October 29, 2010
Let me back up a little bit.... I have been slacking on the blog, I will admit! We have definitely been busy since we moved to DC, but our family and friends fill our cups with glee!

Ok...let me back WAY up! My sweet friends in Charleston threw me a baby sprinkle, and we all wore pink thinking Abraham was going to be a girl! HA! It just goes to show that every pregnancy is truly different, and you cannot count on the gender prediction quiz! ;) I miss you girls!

Olivia and Gabriel's playdate

Gabriel, Shannon and Haley (who have now moved to OK)

Molly Paige (who is now in CA) and Gabriel at the Aquarium

Ada (who is now in Germany) and Gabriel

Gabriel and Noah's pool date

Aaron and Gabriel

Aiden (who is now in WA) and Gabriel at Bee City. Here's to Gabriel's sweet Charleston friends! We miss you, and we wish you all the best wherever your journey leads you!!

The 3 girl wearing BLUE were right! I miss you girls!

Jamil's going away in Charleston...I was overdue at this point!

My mom came in town and was waiting for Abraham to make an appearance for a week! We went and ate spicy food at Taco Boy and did all of the things "they" say will help you go into labor naturally.

Mimi read books to Gabriel about moving and was such a great help with G while we were preparing for the big day!

Here I am laboring at home while Jamil is half heartedly rubbing my back, watching the world cup and talking to Matt.

Kisses for G as we leave for the birth center!

...and like magic, we're back with a surprise that is going to rock G's world! Another baby!

Welcome Home Abraham... but only for a couple of weeks!

Happy first day of life!

Thanks Mimi for all of your love and help!

Sleeping on Daddy

Thanks to all of our friends for visiting and bringing meals!

Happy Father's Day!

Goodbye to our dear first home.... you were such an adorable little package but full of so many beautiful memories!

July 1st... Hello DC! This was our set up while we waited for our furniture...you really don't want me to say much more about that!

Yaya helped paint Gabriel's light purple room to a nice shade of beige.

Happy 4th of July!

Trying to figure out where to go on the metro to watch the fire works...crazy busy!

Yaya came in town to help us get settled in. She camped out with us for a week waiting for the furniture and worked her tail off the next week! THANK YOU!

....and here we go!

Just the start of our pile of empty boxes...no joke!

He thinks I'm funny, but I look like a fool! :)

Gabriel is obviously needing a little extra attention during this crazy time!

Gabriel found his stuffed animals in a box and discovered "New Meow Meow" on the right! Mimi search the internet for a back up Meow Meow (his lovie), which we had hidden in case of emergency or for a swap out when the first one got too gross. I wish I had captured his face when he found it. I think he said, "Meow Meow!" about a million times. Now he has named them Old Meow Meow and New Meow Meow, but Old is still his fav!

We got to visit the grave of Leslie's father at Arlington Cemetery. What an amazing site!

Abraham has lost all of his hair in front, just like Gabriel at this age. ;)

My dad came out the next week to meet Abraham and continue helping us settle in. THANKS Papa!

We ate sea food and walked to get ice cream!

Gabriel finally got another hair cut! It's shorter than I would have liked, but at least it's out of his eyes! :)

Gabriel enjoyed playing in the backyard with Papa!

We headed back to Charleston for John Anaker and Liz's wedding!

Gabriel was a hit on the dance floor, and Abraham was such an angel! Guests were determined that he was a doll... so beautiful and SO Quiet!

Congrats John and Liz!!! You are such a beautiful couple!

John Berger knows that I love to dance, and he has always picked up a new move each time we hit the dance floor!

Sharing a hotel room with two little ones definitely makes for a keep your fingers crossed or no sleep kind of night! We are much more sympathetic to families traveling with babies!

Uncle Matt was our first friend to visit us in DC!

We have a cute little neighborhood park just around the corner from the house. G loves it and is becoming an expert on the big boy swing!

Jamil threw a party at the house for my 30th birthday, and Matt was a hit on the grill!

The cake was a red velvet cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory...the best cake ever!!!

One of my favs!!!

We headed to a sprayground (small water park at a playground) to wrap up the summer. They turn the water off after Labor Day, and Gabriel was really missing the swimming pool from our old neighborhood. He had a blast and Abraham enjoyed hanging out on our retro picnic mat from Jamil's childhood.

And one last goofy pic of Abraham... poor little guy is definitely not represented as much as Gabriel. We love you, Abraham!
