Sweet Spring!

12:09 pm CDT April 16, 2009
We kicked off spring with a homecoming Hooray! Enjoying Daddy and celebrating each day! Grandma came and we just couldn't wait, to get out of the house for a real grown-up date! We planted flowers and along came a bunny, with treats and blessings on day bright and sunny!

Mustache Kisses!

I think I recognize that goofy face!

Welcome home Jamil! Now let's go find a razor!

All the gals (and Gabriel) anxiously waiting for our boys! It was a PJ party (well, at least for the babies) at midnight when the boys returned from their deployment!

It was so sweet to watch the boys together. They just couldn't get enough of one another!

Gabriel's first journey to the beach. Isle of Palms March 2009

Cold feet in the ocean!

We had an action-packed day! After the beach, we met Uncle John Downtown.

We ate at the only good Mexican restaurant around, Santi's! One of our favorites!

We strolled downtown and discovered a little hole in the wall with great tea and nargiles!

We woke up extra early for the Daniel Island Garage Sale! We went home with a 2 dollar nic-nac. Like I need any more of those. Well, it looks great in our newly decorated bathroom!

Our neighbors, the Kojaks & the Proctors and their dogs Gypsy and Cooper, came over for a cookout.

Welcome Baby Ada Menjivar!

Our friends, the Rainers, came in town for a quick visit! Laural (far right) is just too cute!

A good group photo is almost impossible these days. :)

Baby Noah joined us at the Best Fed Baby Group!

Back at Santi's! This is the first restaurant we went to after having Gabriel, and we've now become regulars! Gabriel likes it b/c his hairdo matches all of the way trendy waiters!

First Solids!!!!!!!!!!!! Yummy rice cereal!

Okay, it's not that yummy. Look closer...something missing? Oh yea, we have these things called bibs that are key when starting solids! ;) Oops!

That's better! We remembered the bib the next day.

Gabriel is sitting up!!! He loves his new musical toy that encourages him to sit on his own. Thanks, Andrea and Brandon!

"What do you see when you look in the mirror? Someone who is very special looking back at me!" Jamil and I can't stop singing the silly songs that this toy has stuck in our heads!

Jamil tried out the baby bjorn for the first time. The boys love it! Thanks, Mike and Amber!

Uncle John came over to kick the soccer ball around!

Plato loves soccer! You should see him handle the ball. It's hilarious!

First of all, just let me say how much Jamil LOVES the bjorn! Well, what he really loves is all of the attention he gets from the ladies when wearing it! ;) Secondly, look at sweet Gabriel gone in the middle of the baking isle.

Grandma is here!

That means date night for us!

We went to the final show of Charleston Fashion Week! Jamil was way curious about the fashion show that I've been going to for the past two years, and he was hoping to sneak in without seeing anyone we know. ;)

He's caught! We ran into our friends, Alison and Kasey! Just ignore the fact that I look a little crazy after one beverage. :)

Grandma had a great time introducing Gabriel to new foods like bananas! He's now a fan of sweet peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, prunes, bananas, apples and pears!

He tried a banana in his new mesh munchkin thing. Messy!

Slimy but oh so YUMMY!

Thanks, Great-grandma, for sending my bunny plane!

I love it!

We enjoyed the beautiful weather downtown and sat outside for lunch.

I love my Grandma Sheila!

Thanks for coming to visit!

Back at Santi's with friends!

He loves this discovery toy teether, but sometimes it hits a sensitive area. He has 3 teeth now! 2 on the bottom and 1 on top!

We were in the sea green room for Gabriel's 6 month appointment...it's getting harder to hold him up against the colorful walls with one hand and take a photo with another.

We love Dr. Tripp!

We had a blast at the Cooper River Bridge Kids Run where we participated in the stroller run!

On your mark! Get set! Go!

Did we win?

We strolled through the petting zoo.

Admiring his first medal!

We're finally about to cross the finish line! Notice the time...the strollers weren't aloud to go until all of the other age groups had passed. Also, this was the chaos that was in front of us the whole time. Gabriel and I were dodging kids (and parents) right and left, half of whom had fallen to the ground in fits! :)

Wearing his bright and shinny medal! We wish Daddy was here!

One of Gabriel's many girlfriends, Ada.

We have a scooter! Gabriel is bound to be crawling any day. I know I should be happy, and I am, but seriously....OH NO!

Look at this little monster! He's so anxious to get his little, slimy hands into everything his little, slimy hands shouldn't be into! ;0

We met the Steinforts at the Family Circle Cup and watched a little tennis. MP(Molly Paige), Miss Independent, was way popular! She knew everyone there!

These spring evenings get a little chilly. Good thing I had Gabriel's cute airplane hat!

Happy Easter! He is risen!

Done with the pictures already!

I had to get a close up! You can see his teeth so well when he cries... ;)

Look at sweet Bunny Noah!

And here comes Bunny Gabriel. Watch out, Noah! These were taken at The Best Fed Baby Group.

The squadron mom's group met at the park for an Easter egg hunt! Thanks, Jen, for all of the pictures!

How sweet is this? An unexpected visitor joined in the hunt and ran up the tree with his prize!

After the egg hunt we painted beams for a Habitat house and added our blessings.

Gabriel rolled/scooted his way under the crib today to play peek-a-boo!
