Big Girls

8:02 pm CST March 3, 2011
By now, I am sure you can tell that one of my New Year's resolutions was not blogging this year or I am not doing so well with the resolutions. It is not because I have not had good intention, but 2 - 2 year olds will keep you busy! Here's a quick recap of the past few weeks. First, the girls' 2nd birthday and birthday party. We had a Mick Mouse (yes, Mary Robert calls him Mick Mouse) Birthday party. We had family and a couple of the girls' friends for cake and presents. The girls had a great time! About 3 weeks after thier birthday, Hayes started crawling out of her crib. Within a couple of days, she started crawling out of her bed and into her sister's bed. Although Mary Robert found this amusing at first, it did not take her long to want her "space" and her sister gone. We decided that it was a little premature to convert the girls' beds into to toddler beds, so we purchased crib tents. We took the girls to my grandmother's to show them Mimi's canopy bed. We explained that Mimi had a princess bed and asked if they wanted a princess tent. They both exclaimed "yes." So were rushed home and daddy put together the tents and attached them to the beds. Once in the princess beds, the girls decided they were not such a good idea. After 2 hours of crying, screaming, trying to tear the tent apart, and that was just me and Tommy, we took the tents off, exhausted! The next day we purchased the side rail and converted the beds to toddler beds. The girls love the big girl beds. Every night we put them in bed and shut the door and they start running around, but eventually them get back in thier own bed and go to sleep. They have adjusted well. They go to bed about 7:30 and get up about 7. Hopefully, that will continue after the upcoming time change. Here are some pictures from the girls first haircut and birthday party.
