January 14, 2010 - Mary Robert and Hayes turn 1

WOW! The girls' are one! Prior to the girls' birth, everyone told me how fast time would pass. During the first few weeks, when I was watching a lot of Carson Daly and so happy to learn that WITN started the local morning news at 5 AM, I did not believe those people. I am now a believer. The past year has really flown by. One year ago, we had just gotten home from the hospital and were anticipating a big snow. Today, the toddlers are playing in their cribs (hopefully napping eventually) and it is 60 degrees outside. On January 9, with the help of family and a couple of friends Tommy and I hosted the girls' birthday party. We were able to keep it small enough that the girls did not get overwhelmed. We think they had a great time. My AZD, big sister, Sarah came all the way from NYC for the birthday weekend! Jackie came from Clinton, Amy, Catherine, Shan, and Laken came from Raleigh. Tara came from Winterville (5 miles maybe) but she enjoyed it so much that 36 hours later she went into labor and has since had a little girl of her own!
