Sadly missed, forever loved
8:31 am CST February 25, 2010
Jasper Christopher Johnson, 15 months old, of Jamaica Plain became an angel February 23, 2010 at Children’s Hospital Boston, after a lifelong battle with a severe congenital heart defect. Jasper was born November 25, 2008 in Boston, MA.
While Jasper’s life was difficult at times, he always had a sweet disposition and easygoing personality. He loved baths, balloons and music. During the warm months Jasper could be seen walking in his stroller through the parks in the Boston area. Jasper enjoyed spending quiet days resting in his parent’s bed. He recently received a personal song written for him, from the Songs of Love Foundation, which he loved listening to.
Jasper is survived by his mother and father Chris and Rebecca Johnson of Jamaica Plain and a soon to be little brother Reece; grandmother, Elaine Kersten of Florence, MA; grandfather Peter Johnson of ME; grandparents Bruce and Lidia Bousquet of Princeton, MA; aunts Michelle Lopopolo and Pamela Buckley of Princeton, MA; Uncle Anthony Lopopolo of Princeton, MA; cousins Elizabeth, Katherine, Jackie, Madeline, and Caroline Lopopolo, Abigail, Sara and Jack Buckley of Princeton MA. Jasper touched many people, including the many caring doctors, nurses and staff at Children’s Hospital Boston.
A memorial service will be held Saturday February 27, 2010, 1:00 pm, at First Church in Jamaica Plain, at 6 Eliot Street. There will be a reception at the family’s home in Jamaica Plain immediately following the service.
Donations can be made in Jasper’s name to www.childrensheartfoundation.org or Children’s Hospital Boston.
