Day 4
5:42 am CDT July 12, 2008
So all is going well with mommy and babies:) I came home on Thursday night and it was hard, but the right thing to do. I needed to be at home and sleep in my own bed. I had a rough go just to get things going in the morning and I had wanted to be back at the hospital to visit the babies by noon, but life had other plans for us. I just had a hard time getting myself together to even get out the door, but once we did we hit other road blocks. We picked Nick up from my mom's to give her a break from watching him and took him to lunch and I had to stop at the store which turned into a huge melt down for big brother. I can't even imagine what a huge thing this all must be for Nick. He is dealing with it, but we just need to remember he is only 3 and this whole baby thing is going to change his world. So we spent some time just the three of us at lunch.
We then droped Nick off to stay with Granny and Pappy for a few day's to give Nana a break:) (thanks to both grandma's for all your help with Nicholas, it means a lot to know we don't have to worry about him as much) Once we finally got to the hospital it was so good to see the babies!! Cooper was off the billi light's and had his IV remved from his head and no nasal canula. I could finally see just how cute he is without all the equipment on him. I just held him and stared at him for what seemed like forever!!! It was so nice:)
I also got to give Jackson a bath and feed him:) It's so nice to be able to take care of my babies. Jackson was doing great yesterday as well, but he did have some episodes of apnea that they had to stimulate him to get him to start breathing again. They said he needed 6 episodes in 24 hours for it to be considered a trend and possibly start caffine to help him remember to breath. He was also running a low grade fever for a few hours, but that resolved before we left last night, so we will have to see how last night went and see if they have needed to add any medications.
Jackson
Our handsome boy Jackson just hanging out:) I can't even believe that I didn't get a pic of Ella today. Bad mommy!! Ella is doing great, she ate like a champ for mom and we just cuddled for a while and Clyde and I just stared at her beauty. We couldn't have been more blessed with three beautiful children that couldn't be more perfect.
Oh, one last thing before I go get ready for the day. This is what we came home to on Thursday night from the hospital. It's so cute and now all the neighborhood will know that our gang has arrived. My mom and Aunt Donna had these put up and it brought tears to my eyes just to see how much everyone loves us, Nick and the babies. Well I have to go pump and get ready for my day at the hospital. Clyde is going back to work tonight, so it's going to be hard not to have him with us at the hospital all day, but I'm sure it will be harder on him. We will update later on the day's progress.
