Welcome to the Family!

It was a dark and stormy night...well more like dark and drizzly night, but Kelly and I found it amusing that we could actually use that line to describe the night we went to the hospital. I had been having contractions all evening and by 1:30am, it was clear that this was the day. We held off and waited to go to the hospital until 3:30am.
We were able to check in pretty quickly. We were so excited that we would be meeting Bridget soon. Things progressed quickly until I opted for the epidural which unfortunately slowed things down. A little pitocin put things back on track, but made the epidural wear off. That made things a lot more difficult for me, but it was better for Bridget that we get the labor moving. At 2:19 pm, Bridget finally entered the world, wide eyed, alert, and very observant. she didn't cry very much at all which alarmed me, but she was perfectly healthy, just taking it all in.
Bridget measured in at 8lbs., 1 oz. and 21 and 1/2 inches long. She has an incredibly calm demeanor unless she is really upset over something. Then she proves she has quite a set of lungs on her.
Kelly and I are thrilled to to finally have Bridget here, and we are both completely in awe of her.
